Nettles are a powerful tonic for skin health due to their superior anti oxidant and anti inflammatory effects. This makes Stinging Nettle ideal both topically and internally to help relieve eczema, acne and other inflamed skin conditions. They are also an amazing herb to stimulate & soothe digestive issues because of their anti inflammatory & analgesic nature (good digestion is essential for glowing skin). They're also a powerful herb for women's health when consumed regularly.
Dandelion is high in vitamins K and A and is another great source for anti oxidants. It's often used to treat muscle aches, loss of appetite, upset stomach, intestinal gas, gallstones, joint pain, eczema and bruises. Dandelion can be used to stimulate digestion which makes it good for assisting in the creation of radiant skin. The root is used to stimulate liver & bowl function while the leaf works primarily with the kidneys and has a diuretic action. Dandelion is also high potassium making it a great tonic for helping our bodies to maintain electrolyte balance.
NETTLE & DANDELION TEA
- 1 tsp. Stinging Nettle Leaf (dried)
- 1/2 tsp. each Dandelion Leaf & Root (dried)
- Few Slices of Ginger (optional)
- Fresh Lemon (optional)
- 10 - 12 oz boiling water
Steep dried herbs and ginger in boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon as desired.
I love the simplicity and light herbaceous flavor of just Nettles and Dandelion however, sometimes it is fun to spice it up a bit with some
ginger & lemon.
